Citizen's Arrested for Attempting to Arrest a Criminal

Here is the original story referring to.

This needs to be reiterated: an 80 year old Reverend was arrested for attempting to do the right thing. Karl Rove has evaded a congressional subpoena and not been indicted for it. While this alone is worthy of being livid about, the fact that citizens were arrested for doing the job of our elected officials is what pushes it to the point of outrageous.

V for Vendetta, 1984, and Animal Farm couldn't capture how messed up this situation is. When official criminals aren't prosecuted, citizens are arrested for doing the right thing, and the eventual lack of follow up by major government action results in the official okay for said actions. What type of society has this country fallen into when criminals run the country and get away with violation of actions what would get people thrown away for life sentences in all other positions.
